Effective July 1, 2025, HB 683 amends Florida Statute 553.791 to significantly accelerate building permit reviews by private providers. Local officials must issue permits within 5 business days for single-trade, single-family/two-family residential projects. General applications face a maximum 20-day review, with 5-day turnaround for revised, corrected submittals.
